Make It Memorable: A Spring/Summer 2016 Hit List
I guess you could say I'm in a bit of a creative funk. I mean I haven't blogged in two weeks...pure blasphemy! This dreary weather doesn't help and neither does the fact that my toddler seems to be going through an existential crisis of some sort -- flailing about on the floor, uncontrollable fussing, running around and around...and around with no purpose other than to run around. It's growing pains. It's the fact that he can't quite explain to me what he wants. It's being too old for baby toys and too young for big boy stuff. I get it. But mama is #fedup for real right now. I've lost a bit of my sense of wonder in the last few weeks, so I'm taking control of the 'sitch...
I've decided this Spring/Summer will be about (self) discovery for all of us. I'm determined not just to make memories with my family and friends but to learn a little as we wander along -- gain some perspective and purpose, if you will. After all, life is good; it really it. It's just a bit muddled right now and only this mama can make it clearer for herself.
Without further ado, here is my "Dreamer, Do-er, Destined to Make It Memorable Spring/Summer Hit List!" I will not let a fussy toddler going through a mid-life crisis stop me from experiencing all there is too experience. We will conquer this moment in time together.
We've played with bubbles, stomped in puddles, flown a kite and gone for a hike already this spring (I know, I know, cue the delirious silly emoji), so some of my ideas for this season are bit more "excursion-y." They also take into consideration things I think Shep will get excited about doing. Follow along with my plans and join in the fun, or let this be the creative catalyst to your own "Make it Memorable" List!
...So there ya have it, my hit list for a fun-filled-yet-thoughtful summer. To top it all off, I will make a SCRAPBOOK. I will, I will, I will record these memories! That is a promise I am making to myself.
I know there will be a tantrum or two or 50 along the way but there will also be A LOT of smiles and laughs and maybe even a few hugs. Perhaps I am being naive to think that by painting rocks and planting a garden I will turn this 'funk' upside down but I am in need of some inspiration, so why not give it a try? Maybe one day Shep will look back and remember one teany tiny moment of the Summer of 16. And that my friends, puts it all in perspective for me.
